Competency aims

The aim of the course is that the students deepen their knowledge of mental health, psycholocigal and social resources, risk factors and problems in a life course perspective, that they can master central concepts and methods within the mental area, and enlarge their ethical consciousness. The students strengthen their professional identity as well as their understanding of and prerequisites for multi-professional cooperation.

Learning outcomes

At the end of the course the student is expected to be able to:
* realise the significance of mental health and be able to explain how it can be supported by creative and expressive means
* reflect upon the significance of family work life and other networks for mental health
* identify specific risks and crisis situations
* analyse the significance of self-knowledge and body knowledge for his/her professional identity
* identify ethical problems within the area
describe how different actors can work for mental health.

Assessment requirements

1) Active participation in groupwork
2) Project report, which will be assessed by the scale 1-5 according to: description, processing, valuation, litterature, language and layout
3) Presentation at seminar during which the group will present their project and maintains a dialogue on a topic with the participants. Assessement: Approved/falied
Approved: The presenation is well substantiated and clear. It gives the audience a broad knowledge of a shosen topic. The presentation triggers discussion which will be kept up by the group
