Competency aims

This course contributes to increase the competence
in the care of the critically ill or injuried
patient. The competence is increased both in
theoretical knowledge and practical skills in
caring for the patient.
The student builds an advanced contextual
competence in chosen areas.

Learning outcomes

At the end of the course the student is expected
to have
- knowledge of the most common clinical tests
- more specific knowledge of serious illnesses as
heartfailure, stroke, lungoedema and trauma
- understanding of factors that influence
patientsafety and can act recording to them
- Identify the critically ill patient and his need
of care
- act ethically in caring of critically ill
patients
