This course serves to deepen the theoretical
knowledge in the pathophysiology of psychiatric
and orthopedic diseases as applied in the
clinical context, focusing on patient safety. It
also function as a base for succeeding in
upcoming courses.

At the end of the course students are expected
to be able to:
-discuss the etiology, signs and symptoms,
complications and prognosis of the most common
psychiatric, orthopedic and neurological
diseases.
-identify appropriate diagnostic examinations
for the diseases

• explain the treatment alternatives, their
  mechanisms, including risk, side-effects and
  prognosis

Psychiatry, multiple sclerosis, spinal cord injury,
gout and pyrophosphate arthritis, osteoarthritis,
osteoporosis, fractures, hand injuries, ankylosing
spondylitis, disc hernias, cerebral palsy.
