Competency aims

The aim of the course is that the students
deepen
their knowledge of mental health, psycholocigal
and
social resources, risk factors and problems in
a life
course perspective, that they can master
central
concepts and methods within the mental area,
and
enlarge their ethical consciousness. The
students
strengthen their professional identity as well
as
their understanding of and prerequisites for
multi-
professional cooperation.Student will have
knowledge of different phases in developmental
and
traumatic crisis and knowledge of disaster
psychology and professional support. Student is
expected to understand application of crisis
interventions in social- and health care. The
aim
is also to provide students with learning
experiences that will both encourage an
understanding of the role of project work as a
mechanism for development.

Learning outcomes

At the end of the course the student is
expected to
be able to:
* identify specific aspects that effect the
mental
health
* reflect upon the significance of family and
other
social networks for mental health
*identify different kind of crisis and
understand the
impact and meaning of crisis
* Apply knowledge about know how to support
people in
different kind of
crisis
* define and describe different kinds of
professional support and crisis interventions
* plan, accomplish and evaluate a project in
co-
operation with others
