Competency aims

Practical training III enhance competence (compare with European occupational therapy competencies) in the areas of knowledge of occupational therapy,OT-process and professional reasoning,professional relationships and partnerships,professional autonomy and accountability and research, development in occupational therapy/science and management and promotion of occupational therapy.

Learning outcomes

students understand different theoretical models and frameworks and are able to apply relevant ones for the client OT-process students are able to apply occupational therapy methods and principles in the OT-process students are able to collaborate with client to enable participation in society students are able to take client history into consideration in clinical reasoning students are able to build a therapeutic partnership with the client and with significant others for the client, students participate in client network to promote occupation and participation students are able to apply ethical principles in their client work students are able to write a client report based on a client case students are able to use research results to justify OT interventions students market occupational therapy to a selectable stakeholder

Course contents

Practical training at hospital, health care center or other relevant work place for OT

Prerequisites and co-requisites

Approved examination in OT courses from first 5 terms of studies, 45 ECTS credits from interdisciplinary subjects and approved registration from the introductory practical training and practical training I and practical training II.

Literature from theory courses, topical research papers.
