Competency aims

The aim of the course is
- manage the most central concepts and models concerning health promotion and welfare and is aware of goals and line draws within the social and health politics
- from a multiprofessional view look at different theoretical models for health promotion and welfare

Learning outcomes

At the end of the course the student is expected to be able to
- define health and welfare from a health promoting perspective
-understand the meaning of health promotion and welfare in the society and in working life
- apply central concepts and models within the area of the profession
- understand the meaning of a multiprofessional way of working
- identify and supply health- and welfare researches both at an individual as at a group level

Course contents

- central concepts concerning health promotion and welfare from the view of different sciences about health, welfare, quality of life, empowerment, supporting environments
- models and methods about health promotion and welfare
- Health 2015 and comparison between the goals in different welfare programs
- the effect of globalisation on health and welfare, equity, ethics and participation in health promotion.
