Competency aims

Students have the ability to identify and assess different families' needs for support after childbirth. Based on this, students can plan, implement and evaluate the care
students have a knowledge in public health work, child health care and pediatrics / neonatology.

Learning outcomes

Student is able to:

Plan, execute and evaluate post natal care for the family and teach and tutor breastfeeding according to WHO standards and guidelines.

Identify complications during the post natal period and act according to guidlines.

In theory perform an post partum examination (according to guidelines for KELA) after regular birth and teach and tutor the family when it comes to family planning

Identify the most common pediatric diseases and know about child health care for up to 1 year olds.
