Competency aims

The aim of the course is...
• To gain deeper knowledge about health promotion from both
practical and theoretical perspectives, and to increase the ability
to critically examine, assess and use evidence-based
information.
• To develop multi-professional expertise in health promotion at
different levels (individual, group and society) by deepening and
broadening the promoting approach.
• To increase expertise in change and development in order to
increase understanding of planning, implementation and
evaluation of health promotion projects.
• To increase communicative and social skills using a variety of
methods with the aim of promoting well-being in different arenas
in society.

Learning outcomes

At the end of the course the student is expected to
be able to...
• Understand key concepts and how to apply them in health
promotion
• Connect theoretical concepts to practice
• Identify needs for health promotion in various contexts
• Discuss and analyze health promoting factors and resources
that are significant for health promotion at work and in other
activities and functions

• Identification and analysis of health-promoting environments
• Lectures on key terms, key components and key theories in
health promotion
• Review of health promotion projects
• Planning and implementation of health promotion interventions
• Health promoting leadership and teamwork
