Competency aims

In this study unit the focus lies on on characterising the viscoelastic properties of polymeric materials.
The SDG in focus are:
#9 and #11

Learning outcomes

You will understand the different short-term (modulus, toughness, strength, elongation) and long-term (creep, recovery and relaxation) properties of polymeric materials. (Knowledge)
You will understand the influences of temperature on strength, viscoelastic, ductility properties of materials (Knowledge)
You will investigate materials? deformations under different loading conditions (Skill)
You will be able to model materials? properties computationally and analyse their responses to different mechanical loads. (Skill)
You will consider the different mechanical properties and the influence of temperature in mechanical design processes. (Attitude)
