Competency aims

The aim of the course is to:
?Increase the student´s knowledge of heat as
transferable form of energy by using different
methods and applications (industrial and other)
as examples.
? Introduce following key items related to heat
exchangers:
a) different heat exchanger types
b) design and modelling of heat balances
c) typical industrial methods for heat transfer
control and heat recovery

Learning outcomes

At the end of the course the student is
expected to:
- understand fundamental heat transfer
calculations
- to choose right type of heat exchanger for
different solutions
- dimensioning of heat exchanger
- understand heat balance calculations and heat
load control in industrial processes
