Competency aims

This study unit focuses on the advanced material technology competencies.

Learning outcomes

At the end of the course, the student is expected to be able to characterise the viscoelastic behaviour of polymers. The student is able to evaluate the creep, relaxation and recovery behaviour of polymeric materials by selecting appropriate viscoelastic models. As an effective, the student is able to understand influence of temperature on the mechanical properties of polymers. In addition, using time-temperature superposition, the student is able to evaluate modulus of the materials at selected temperatures.
