Theoretical knowledge and practical skills in
medical-surgical nursing.
Learning outcomes
By the end of this course, students are able
to:
- assess and observe changes in the state of
health in the medical-surgical patient using
the ABCDE mnemonic tool - establish a caring relationship with the
patient and relatives - demonstrate practical skills in medical and
surgical nursing - utilize the perioperative process when caring
for a patient - practice caring science in the clinical
context - give an oral report using the ISBAR mnemonic
tool

In order to attend this course, the student
shall have passed the course Anatomy &
Physiology,
Clinical Care I and have basic knowledge in the
following topics:
Basic caring science, pharmacology, medication
calculation and administration

The introductory day is compulsory for all
students who wish to accomplish this course.In
addition students will actively participate
during the contact days in the simulation
center and complete the assignments posted on
the learning platform. Contact days are
