Competency aims

The aim of the course is that the student get a sturdy teoretical base in videotechnique, audiotechnique and technique of telling stories so that he can be creative. The course enhances skills learned on an earlier course. The course gives answers that have risen from earlier course.

After course knows student basic terms in audiovisual telling for single camera productions

Audio:
- mikrofones, amplifiers, mixer and effects
- audio with camera, ENG sound basics
- basics in studio
- digital technology and syncing
- basics in sound design

Visual telling
- exposure
- basics in telling with pictures
- basic functions of video camera
- working on location
- contemporary theory of editing and basics of Avid

The course consist of obligatory lessons (80%) and hands-on sessions. Simple practises gives all students possibility to work with basic tools.

Singlecamera1 gives skills to work effectively on course Singlecamera2.

Learning outcomes

At the end of the course the student is expected to be able to
work in a team in single camera productions and to use the
ENG-equipment to produce factual productions and simple drama
productions.

Course contents

Lectures and practical exercises in the production of content,
video- and audio material for news and drama.
