The aim of the course is is that the student becomes aware of cultural expressions from different times and get an idea of the different activities in art and culture.
Play: the capacity to experiment with one?s surroundings as a form of problemsolving.
Appropriation: the ability to meaningfully sample and remix media content.
Multitasking: the ability to scan one?s environment and shift focus as needed to salient details.
Distributed Cognition: the ability to interact meaningfully with tools that expand mental capacities.
Collective Intelligence: the ability to pool knowledge and compare notes with others toward a common goal.
Judgment: the ability to evaluate the reliability and credibility of different information sources.
Transmedia Navigation: the ability to follow the flow of stories and information across multiple modalities.
Networking: the ability to search for, synthesise, and disseminate information.
Negotiation: the ability to travel across communities, discerning and respecting multiple views, and grasping and following alternative norms.

Learning outcomes

After completing the course, the student is expected to be able to
a) be aware of current trends in art and culture
b) have an insight into new technologies such as XR, AI and robotics and the new expressions that arise from technology
(c) identifying any work opportunities that these trends and new technologies entail
d) know the basics of artistic research

Course contents

NOTE THIS IS AN ONLINE COURSE

In the course you will learn about trends in art and culture and train your digital competences.
     You visit exhibitions independently and
immerses you in image analysis and artistic research. You do assignments individually or in groups around cultural phenomena, works of art and artists of your choice. You will be guided in this work individually and / or in groups if needed.

The examinations weigh among themselves as follows:

Rating 4: 60-69 p
Rating 3: 50-59 p
Rating 2: 40-49 p
Rating 1: 35-39 p
Fail: 0-34p

FOR APPROVED WITNESS 35 POINTS ARE REQUIRED

P stands for points.
Thus, the minimum requirement for passing the course is 35 points
Deadline should be respected.
