Competency aims

The aim of the course is to give the students an introduction to information technology with a focus on personal computers, application programs used in PC's and data networks.

Learning outcomes

At the end of the course the student is expected to be able to:
- use computers in school and understand how the IT infrastructure is organized
- use word processors, spreadsheets, databases and data communication tools
- explain principles of software development
- describe at a general level computer harware, operating systems and harware/software interaction
- have a general understanding of computer networks
- present principles of data security
