Competency aims
The students gain knowledge about Nordic
communities and business environments as well as
skills in using appropriate analytic tools.
Learning outcomes
At the end of the course the student is expected
to be able to master different methods for
analyzing macro- and micro-environments of
businesses, analyze and evaluate the
competitiveness fundamentals of each Nordic
country and explore business opportunities in the
region.

- PESTEL-analyses
- Comparative studies of competitiveness
fundamentals in the region
- Macro and microeconomic analysis of the
business
environments in the Nordic region
Prerequisites and co-requisites
A bachelor degree and at least two years work
experience gained after completing the higher
education degree
Recommended or required reading
Participants will actively seek for relevant
sources of information throughout the course. For
example:
1. Economic reports by national authorities and
research institutions
2. Regional reports by Nordic and International
bodies
3. Scientific articles on the region as well as
on relevant theories and methods
4. Methodological guidelines produced by
lecturer

Assessment requirements
To pass the course the student should do
individual assignments as well as produce in a
team a projectreport.
Some assigment will be also orally
presented in class.
Group assignment points and individual
assignments points (with separately defined
deadlines during course) will be outlined in the
course introduction materials.
For to pass the course 50% of points in all
assignments needed.
