Competency aims

The aim of the course is - to understand the basics and framework for a new business - to get an introduction in being an entrepreneur and to create an interest and understanding towards entrepreneurship -to understand and implement tools used for product development - service design and design thinking - to learn basic skills of customer development model by Steve Blank - to understand the basic structure of marketing in a small company with limited resources -to get an introduction to economic management of a company -to develop a product/service idea into a concrete business idea that can be implemented

Learning outcomes

At the end of the course you are expected to be able to: - know how to start a small company and to know differences between different legal forms - plan the whole business-process based on "The Business Model Canvas" and formalize the idea´s in a Business plan - evaluate herself/himself as a potential entrepreneur - generate and develop a business idea - use tools for product and customer development - understand service design thinking - use Marketing mix as a tool for an entrepreneur - utilize Customer Journey, Buyer Persona and Business Canvas to plan the implementation on the project - manage the economy of a small company by understanding the basics of accounting, budgeting and business planning - conduct a practical product development project - pitch the business in a professional way - get insights about team work

Legal forms of companies and risks involved The Business Model Canvas Business plan Commercial vs. social entrepreneurship Innovations and inventions Business ideas, how to generate them Service design Customer Journey & Buyer Person Basics in marketing of a small business IPR & GDPR Economic management of a company Team work, guest lectures, workshops, reports, pitching event in the end of the course for external jury members.

First-year studies performed satisfactorily (min. 50 cr).

This Entrepreneurship extension study module consists of 4 topic blocks and activities during the whole course period: Basics and framework for a new business Product development and marketing Create a product/service idea into a concrete concept that can be implemented Economic management of a company Assignments will be done along the whole course period and tasks within a certain block will be done according to a given timetable. In order to pass the course, you need to receive minimum 50% of the points from each block. Please join course introductory lecture 10th of January 2022 at 13.00 for more detailed information about the course. This lecture will be held in Zoom.
