Competency aims
The course lays the basis for a caring scientific an patient safety competence and gives a structure for evidence based nursing
You understand the basics of the patient safety work in Finland and you are able to give examples of the most common safety- and risktheories.
Learning outcomes
At the end of the course the student is expected to be able to ;
- understand the basis for an evidencebased way of working in nursing
- understand the theory-core in caring and be able to argue for its importance in nursing care.
- understand professional ethics as a base for safe patient care
- understand the principles of patient safe nursing interventions
You are able to describe the normal theories within safety science.
You understand how risks are avoided and managed.
You are able to give examples of how human factors influence all your work and understand how teamwork may make your work safer
