Competency aims

The primary aim is to develop English language competence, in particular Business English communication skills required in the professional context, i.e - to improve spoken fluency in business situations - to improve writing skills The course also aims to provide the student with the necessary support in study skills (writing, researching, presenting) to succeed in his/her degree studies.

Learning outcomes

At the end of the course the student is expected to be able - to communicate effectively on matters regularly encountered at work, in school, at leisure - give clear, rather detailed descriptions about the organizational structure of a company, product components, services or processes - interact with a high degree of fluency in work and customer situations. - deliver a well structured presentation. - write basic business letters and reports

Assessment requirements

Students are required to submit all assignments and coursework tasks for assessment. The course grade is based on continual assessment, and the completion of all work submitted (80%) and participation (20%) in classes. There is no final exam.
