The aim of the course is to teach mechanics of adhesive joints, principles of technical textiles, micromechanical fiber volume fraction and vibrational damping

Learning outcomes

At the end of the course the student is expected to be able to: 1. Calculate normal and shear stresses in joints 2. Dimension scarf-joint angle 3. Plan preparation of an adhesive joint 4. Plan test of an adhesive joint in compression and bending 5. Describe stress distribution in the joint as function of joint thickness. 6. technical textile structures and micromechanical fiber volume fraction 7. biocomposite material and vibration damping
