Competency aims

To give students the skills and understanding to manufacture engineering components on CNC machines with the aid of engineering software

Learning outcomes

The student is expected to be able to choose the right method for machine tooling and the appropriate tools on the basis of a technical drawing and with a CAM programme generate the NC-code to machine the part. The student will machine parts on the CNC lathe.

Course contents

Modelling principles of MasterCam in 2-D and 3-D.
Manufacturing of components based on industrial drawings.
Flexible manufacturing systems.
