Competency aims

Students will learn to apply Fluid Mechanics theory to engineering applications.

Learning outcomes

Application of Bernoulli’s Theory, Momentum Equation and the Energy Equation will be learnt.

At the end of the course students should be able to:
-Calculate the force of static fluids on vessels.
-Calculate the internal pressures and velocities of flowing fluids.
-Determine the forces on plates by fluids in motion.
-Calculate the power for required for pumps.
-Calculate the power supplied by turbines.
