Competency aims

The aim of the course is to learn students to see and analyze film and it´s characters as functional figures.

Basic vocabulary on dramaturgy is learned as a tool to talk about movies and manuscripts.

The student gets interested in history of film and understands its impact on contemporary film.

There is philosophy in film.

Learning outcomes

At the end of the course the student is expected to be able to recognice some dramaturgical models as tools to analyze film.

Student knows about history of film and the technological development, conventions in narrative fiction.

Course contents

A Lesson with some examples and underlying theory.

Analysing in working groups.
