Competency aims

The aim of the course is to give the student an introduction to project-oriented work as a way of organizing his/her work in a systematical way. Both difficulties and strengths with project teams or organizations will be discussed. Examples of different process models and computer-based project tools are introduced.

Learning outcomes

At the end of the course the student is expected to be able to: - understand group dynamics ... how individuals and teams work. What is team work? - know how to deal with conflicts - discuss management and leadership ... what is the role of a project manager? - contribute to project planning - know how to use and benefit from computer based project tools - understand why project phases are important - contribute in project meetings and practice meeting techniques - produce project plans and project applications

Teamwork assignments: - Project planning (40 p) - Teamwork case analysis (25 p) Individual assignments: Reflective notes from guest lectures (15 p) My dream team (10 p) Project management tool (10 p ) Sum 100 p To pass 50 p are required and all parts must have at least 50% of total points. For team assignments the whole team will receive the same grade. Mandatory to attend minimum three guest lectures.
