Competency aims

To give students the skills and understanding to use Finite Elemenet Analysis in the solution of complex engineering problems.

Learning outcomes

-To derive and solve the global equation for the solution of deflection of members in engineering structures.
-To derive the local and global stiffness matrix for the solution of deflection of members in engineering structures.
-To apply the FEM method in the solution of engineering problems.
-To solve engineering problems using FEM /FEA software.
-To interpret the accuracy of results obtained when using FEM /FEA software.
