Competency aims
Students develop their competence within the field
of occupational therapy by:
-understanding the creative activities central
purpose and meaning within Occupational Therapy
practice
- getting a fundamental knowledge about group-
therapy in OT
-getting fundamental understanding about how
occupational therapists plan, lead and carry out
the use creative activities in a group setting.
-understanding how the relationship between the
right to be occupied, from a creative point of
view, impact on the persons perception of health.
- knowing the Flow-theory
Learning outcomes
At the end of the course the student is expected
to be able to:
-explain the terms: creativity,creative activities
and know the WHO definition on health and well-
being.
-fundamental knowledge on what can be achieved in
OT when creative activities are the method used
and how these kind of activities have an impact on
the clients health (per WHO def.)
- tell how the difficulty level of the creative
activity has an impact in the clients well-being
when carrying out the creative activity
- use his fundamental knowledge about group-
therapy in OT by planning and be the leader of a
group-session where creative activity/activities
is/are used.
Course contents
Lectures.
Student will practice expressive and creative
activities, crafts. Students will plan and
function as
leaders for activity groups.
