Competency aims
Nursing and caring research. The research process from qualitative and quantitative perspectives.
Learning outcomes
At the end of the course the student is expected to be able to;
- read and understand a research report
- identify the steps in a research process
- in a group and under supervision do an exercise following the steps of the research process
- write a report, present the work and argue for their findings and be an opponent for another exercise work
Course contents
Nursing- and caring research ; basic, clinical and multidisciplinary. Qualitative and quantitative approaches. Basic research concepts, paradigms, interests, competence, worldview and views on science. Research ethics. The state of nursing/caring research in the nordic countries and internationally.
