Competency aims
The course builds upon the outcomes of the mobile
apps course, and adds knowledge about go-locations
and updating apps in real time.
Learning outcomes
At the end of the course the student is expected
to be able to:
- add layers to Google maps;
- add layered maps to website and mobile apps
- update layered maps from phones or computers.
Course contents
The course is primarily project-based. In the
first part students will work individually to
understand the use of Google maps and the maps
api.
In the second part students will work individually
to devise potential projects to utilise this
knowledge.
In the third part students will work in groups to
development one or more of the ideas into fully
working apps.
Prerequisites and co-requisites
Students should have some knowledge
of, and interest in, mobile applications for use
on phones and tablets.
Some basic knowledge of JavaScript is required.

during discussions in sessions 1 - 3.
