Competency aims

The aim of the course is to learn how to work with concepts and develop an idea to a well thought wholeness ready to be pitched to a client. The course develops further the ability of creative work within a team.

Learning outcomes

After the course the students are able to:
-do concept design based upon a given brief
-work in teams and be responsible for their own tasks
-recognize critical parts in the process from idea to concept
-make professional presentations

Additional information

The communication within the course happens on Slack. The student is supposed to follow Itslearning and Slack to keep up to date on possible changes.

Note! The situation with Covid-19 might move the course online. In practice it means that the lectures are moved from campus to Zoom following the already existing schedule (bookings on ARBS) and absence reporting is done normally via Itslearning. The situation is followed up continuously and information about possible changes in the course are sent via e-mail or Itslearning.

Assessment requirements

The ideas and presentations are judged by the clients and representatives from the field. The students achievments, such as activity, group work and ability to communicate is judged by the examinator.

To pass the course the student is required to finish the projects (pitch) and fulfill the 80% attendance requirements.

Examination 1: Finished projects 40%
Examination 2: Tasks and presentations 20%
Examination 3: Deadlines 20%
Examination 4: Presence 20%

The emphasis is on the practical work done within deadlines. Absence without notifying the teacher affects the grading even if all tasks would be finished within given timetable.
