Competency aims

Aim of course: To give the student a basic knowledge of thermodynamic equilibrium, work and heat, laws of thermodynamics and heat transfer.

Learning outcomes

The student is expected to have an understanding of the most important topics in thermodynamics, such as thermodynamic analysis of equilibrium, the first and second law of thermodynamics.

Course contents

Equations of state, work, heat, enthalpy, entropy.
The first and second law of thermodynamics and basic considerations in the analysis of power cycles.
