The aim of the course is to enhance conceptual thinking and foster critical engagement with the processes associated to mediated communication

Learning outcomes

In this course students are expected to be familiar with the basic concepts and methods associated to the critical discussion on media issues. In addition they will possess the analytical skills for the critical analysis of media content.

Please note that attendance of the course lectures is compulsory. To qualify for credits, students have to attend no less than 80% of the course.

Assessment requirements

Students assessment and grading is based on three elements: attendance (at least 80%) and two exercises. The first exercise consists of tests on the textbook. The second exercise is a short essay on a book from a list that will be published at the beginning of the course.
