Competency aims

The aim of the course is that students understand
what system design is, why it is needed and then
link between creating software and design. At the
completion of the course, students should have
sufficient knowledge to create a program with
different design patterns, and illustrate the
design using various UML diagrams.

Learning outcomes

Knowledge of the object-oriented modeling language
UML. Ability to document object-oriented programs
(For example C++ or Java) with a visual UML tool,
and the ability to design these programs using
different design patterns. Students have also
learned a basic understanding of project-based
work.
