Competency aims

The objective of the course is to enable the student to prepare investment and financing calculations of the type needed in many small and medium-sized companies. The student will also be familiar with financing terminology, enabling her to participate in related discussions in a company. The student is able to evaluate investments on the financial markets.

Learning outcomes

The student will be able to demonstrate a basic knowledge of the various issues related to the financing of a company´s activities. The student can analyze investment alternatives and calculate financing requirements as well as choose between different types of financing methods.

The student will have a basic understanding of some of the central theories of the financial markets (e.g. the relationship between risk and return) and available instruments.

The student is able to produce a structured business report in good professional English.
