Competency aims
The aim of the course is to
- provide the student with ability to meet, understand and improve wellbeing of the elderly with aesthetical and spiritual interventions
- give basic knowledge in first aid and microbiology
Learning outcomes
At the end of the course the student is expected to
- respect elderly clients as unique, developing -individuals
- focus on the resources of older people considering the risk of acute illnesses
- be able to reflect on her/his own activity in light of the value foundation of elderly care and seeks to retain her or his personal ethical sensitivity.
- is able to establish a caring relationship based on listening and interaction with the elderly client.
- is aware of the diversity of human beings and is capable of acceptance, dialogs and reflection in interaction
- apply the multiprofessional approach adopted during studies
