Competency aims

The goal is to increase competence in health promotion and get tools to apply the knowledge in practice.
Students
- Become aware of the concepts of health and health promotion and know the concepts that relate to these
-Aware of ergonomic factors in man at work
-Have knowledge of health physiotherapy interventions and can apply these in different contexts.

Learning outcomes

After completing the course the student is expected
- Be able to define health, know and be able to apply models and methods in order to promote health for individuals and groups
- Be able to plan and implement health-enhancing physical activity for young people of school age
- Know the health resources and health risks that people may experience in the workplace and identify factors that may cause physical and mental stress during work.
- On the basis of assessment and evaluation of possible health resources and risks to apply physiotherapy interventions and evaluate them.

Course contents

Concepts, models and theories that relate to human health and lifestyle and health promotion
Planning, implementation and evaluation of a health promotion event for young school-age
Ergonomics bases and physiotherapy interventions
Investigations of physical work and planning of ergonomic measures to optimize the physical workload

Prerequisites and co-requisites

Anatomy, physiology and biomechanics
