Competency aims

The main goal of the course is to describe the internationalization process of the firm. Depending on the size of the market, the demand for the product, economic and political risk different operation modes are warranted. After the completion of the course the student should be able to independently determine which operation method is justified in a specific situation.

Learning outcomes

The student shall after the course know why companies internationalize and know the main forms of international transactions.

Course contents

During the course the international environment is described as well as international trade and investments, exchange rates and international risk, the internationalization process of the firm, different international operational forms and the management of international operations.
Specific features in trading with different international regions are also treated.

Basic courses in marketing and logistics

Additional information

Compulsory attendance during cases and seminars.

During the first period the main teaching methods are lectures and case studies. During the second period the students present in seminars their written term papers describing a specific form of international operations.
