Competency aims

The aim of the course is that the student
understands the value of the purchasing activity
and that they can use important purchasing and
inventory tools.

Learning outcomes

At the end of the course the student is expected to
be able to understand the purchasing process and to
understand the relationship between inventory- fix
capital and purchase.

Course contents

The student works with separate purchasing and
inventory tools as ABC-analyses and purchase
agreements. Deterministic and stochastic inventory models are presented in detail.

Students with Logistics as their extension studies will have first priority on the course. Compulsory deadlines for all parts and assignments.

Assessment requirements

The Inventory part will be graded based on a small exam and some exercises. The purchasing part will be graded based on a case made for an external partner. Grading is based on written assignments and oral presentations.
