Competency aims

The aim of the course is that the student gets a
basic knowledge of
the work environment, an insight in psychology and
crisis
management and is able to act in the anesthesia
environment.

Learning outcomes

At the end of the course the student is expected
to be able to
take action to provide a secure environment to
work in regarding
traffic, different diseases, electrical equipment,
accident sites
and work ergonomically.

The student understands the psychological
reactions which
appear under great stress and traumatic
situations. The student
is able to recognize these reactions in himself
and others and
therefore is able to work in those conditions.

The student handles different anesthesia methods,
has an
insight in the respiratory and ventilation systems
and is able to
monitor an anesthetized patient.

Course contents

The course is divided in three groups:
1. safety in the work environment
- driving emergency vehicles
- scene safety (safety on scene of accident,
electric safety,
carsafety)
2. psychology and crisis work
3. anesthesiology
