Competency aims

The aim of the course is
to understand the role of
thermodynamics in real-world engineering problems and to
give students the feel of how thermodynamics is applied in
engineering practice

Learning outcomes

At the end of the course the student is expected to be able to
understand basic principles of thermodynamics,
heat, temperature, thermodynamics process,
closed and open systems.1st and 2nd law of thermodynamics.

-Energy conversion
-Properties of pure substances
-Energy analysis of closed systems
-Mass and energy analysis of control volumes
-Second law of thermodynamics
-Entropy
