Competency aims

To give the student the skills and understanding to analyze and solve fluid mechanic problems.

Learning outcomes

-Apply Bernoulli?s Theory, Momentum Equation and the Energy Equation in the solution of fluid mechanic problems.
-To calculate head losses in internal fluid flow problems.
-To calculate the amount of work done by a turbine or pump.
-To calculate the resultant forces and line of actions of static fluids on straight and curved surfaces.
-To relate displacement with pressure in barometers and manometers.
